Mac vs Morphe

Heeeyy everyone. Those who follow me on instagram will know how much I love my Morphe Brushes 35W palette. Recently,  I received the Mac warm neutrals palette for my birthday & I could not believe how similar it was to my 35W palette so I had to do a blog post comparing the two.

As some of you are aware, there is a lot of controversy regarding Mac Cosmetics so for those who are looking for an alternative, keep reading..

The Mac Warm Neutrals palette retails at £65 whereas the Morphe Brushes palette retails at $19.99, that's £12.90! I know, what a steal! In the Mac palette, you get 15 eyeshadows, whereas the morphe palette has 35 eyeshadows in it. As far as pigmentation goes, both palettes are equally pigmented & blend like a dream.

In the Morphe palette, you will be able to find dupes to every single eyeshadow in the Mac palette, at more than half the price. See below for some swatches. Some swatches looks a little different to each other on camera but in real life, they are identical.

I would highly recommend the Morphe Brushes 35W palette to those who want a more affordable version of the Mac warm neutrals palette & also a more ethical palette. I hope this was useful to you girls & let me know what you would like to see next.

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream review

I know this is long overdue but I have finally got you girls a full review of the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream. It comes in 3 different shades: light, medium & dark. I have it in medium which matches me perfectly.

I don't usually like BB creams but this one I have to say is amazing. It's so difficult to find a BB cream which isn't too pink. The Maybelline Dream Pure is the perfect balance between yellow and pink undertones. It's extremely neutral so should suit almost any skin tones.

This BB Cream is said to be an '8 in 1 BB with 2% Salicylic acid' which really does fight blemishes. I haven't had a break out in months! The winter months have left my skin feeling extremely dry but I find this BB Cream so moisturising and it doesn't cling onto my dry patches which is always a must. For a BB Cream, it has quite good coverage. I would say it's of medium coverage. You can even use it as a primer underneath your foundation & it won't look cakey. The best part is it's only £6.99. I know, bargain right?!

My favourite thing about this BB Cream is the longevity of it. It lasts hours & hours. If you have quite oily skin, you might want to set it with a powder but I usually just wear it on its own everyday.

I would highly recommend this BB Cream for an everyday foundation/base. I hope this post was worth the wait. Let me know what you girls would like to see next x

Simple glam

Hi girls. I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd upload a quick pictorial for you girls on this simple champagne eye look. This can be worn everyday or even on a night out after tweaking it a little.

For this look, I only used only three eyeshadows so it is really easy to recreate.

To begin, I primed my eyelids with Mac prolongwear concealer. This cancels out any discoloration you may have as well as providing a smooth canvas & ensuring that the eyeshadows have something to adhere to. I also set this with my face powder to make the eyeshadows blend easily.

The first eyeshadow I used was a medium brown from my Morphe Brushes 35C palette. I blended this into the crease using an Eco tools fluffy eyeshadow brush.

I then took an essence metal glam eye shadow in '15 hello goldie! ' & packed it on the lip generously using a flat shader brush.

Then, I went back into with the medium brown to touch up the crease.

After this, I laid down some sticky tape on the side of my eye to achieve that feline cat eye effect. Using a black eyeshadow from the Morphe 35C palette, I filled in the outer V, going towards the middle of my eye. The further I went into the middle, I used a lighter hand each time. I really packed the black shadow on with a flat shader brush.

Then, using a fluffy brush, I blended any harsh lines out & softened the look.

After that, I applied the same black eyeshadow to my bottom lash line, straightening it out as I got to the inner corner. This will make your eyes appear larger.

I then used Elf's cream eyeliner to create a wing & added some lashes to finish off the look.

I hope this was useful for you girls. Let me know what you would like me to post next x

YSL Fusion Ink foundation review

As promised, I have finally got around to doing a review on the YSL Fusion Ink foundation. To start off with, I just wanted to say that I am yet to buy the full size and have been trying it out for over a week.

The sample you get is a 7 day sample but you honestly only need the smallest amount as a little goes a long way. I would definitely recommend getting a sample to try out since it is on the pricey side. It retails at £30.50.

I have been matched with the colour BD55 which does have pretty yellow undertones which is really flattering on my skin. One thing that I particularly liked about this foundation is the formula. It's honestly the smoothest, most buttery formula in a foundation. It just glides on with and without a primer.

It's also full coverage and is buildable. For everyday use, I simply do about 4 dots on each side of my face & blend it out using a flat top kabuki & I absolutely love the coverage it gives me. However, it still looks like skin. It doesn't look thick or cakey at all and leaves an airbrushed finish to the skin.

Plus it smells amazing & is really refreshing in the mornings which is always a plus.

Now onto the negatives:

Even though it's supposed to be matte, I do find that my T zone gets quite oily during the day so I wouldn't recommend it to those with really oily skin. My skin isn't too oily so setting it with a good powder helps a little.

Also, after the first 2 days of using it, I did get a few breakouts but after continuing to use it, it stopped breaking me out since my skin just got used to it.

Overall, I would recommend this foundation to girls with normal/combination skin. However, it's definitely worth getting hold of a sample before splashing out. As far as colour goes, they have a wide range of colours to match olive/Asian skintones so if you're struggling to find the right colour, I'm sure you will find it in this range.

I hope this was useful to you girls. Let me know what you want me to post next x

Best of benefit gift set review

Heyy girls. I'm sure everyone went a little crazy during the black Friday sales. I for one definitely did! I managed to get my hands on this 'Best of Benefit' set which basically comes with 7 bestselling items from Benefit.

The gift set usually retails at £54 but during the sales it was only £24.50 which I thought was an absolute steal. It comes with mini sizes of the porefessional primer, benetint, high beam, boi-ing concealer, hoola bronzer, they're real mascara & push up eyeliner.

I must say that I'm quite disappointed with this. Although, the packaging is so pretty, the actual products really disappointed me. However, it's not all bad.

The porefessional is good. It really does shrink down my pores, however I think my Maybelline baby skin primer does the exact same thing buy for more than half the price. I also like the benetint but found that it works better with a powder blush layered on top.

Moving onto the high beam highlighter & the hoola bronzer. I know loads of girls absolutely love these 2, however they just didn't agree with me. The bronzer didn't even show up on my skin. I found myself using quite a lot to make it show up & the highlighter isn't as pigmented as I expected. It kind of just disappears into your skin.

Now moving onto the 'they're real' mascara & push up liner. The mascara is honestly the best mascara I've ever used. The brush is so easy to use & avoids clumps. I find that just one coat is enough for me as far as length & volume go. The eyeliner on the other hand is the worst eyeliner I've ever used. I hardly ever struggle with eyeliner but I honestly found it so difficult to use & found that it tugged on my lash line quite a lot. I probably won't be using it again.

The boi-ing concealer is alright for now but I am still a little unsure about it & think I need to use it a little longer so I will keep you girls updated.

Overall, I think I will only use the porefessional primer, the benetint & the they're real mascara again.

Hope this review was useful for you girls... Thaslima x

Go to hijab tutorial.

Heyyy girls. This post is on my most requested hijab tutorial. I wear this style literally everywhere whether it be everyday to work or even special occasions. It honestly is so easy to do & once mastered, it should only take you 3-5 minutes to do. Before I start, I want to apologise for the blurry pictures (courtesy of my sister).

Now onto the tutorial..

Step 1: Place your hijab around your face however you like it, leaving one side longer than the other & pin with a no snag pin.

Step 2: Bring the material forward from the back to create a fold. I usually pin the first fold down so it's easy to do more folds. Then do a few more folds. You can do as many as you like but I always stop at 3 folds.

Step 3: Take the back of the shorter side & bring it over your head where your bun starts for a little bit of extra volume. Pin down with a straight hijab pin.

Step 4: Take the longer side & bring it over your head & secure with a straight pin.

I try not to be too neat with this hijab style because, the messier it is, the more effortless & voluminous it looks.

I hope this pictorial is easy for you girls to follow & was useful for you. This hijab style should work with any type of hijab but is easiest with a maxi hijab to ensure we don't lose any coverage while doing our folds.

Please let us know what you would like us to post next.

Shimmery purple smokey eye

Hey everyone!

Today im going to show you guys how i did this shimmery purple smokey eye. This look is great for parties, clubbing, christmas etc. Mostly all the products i used are cheap, therefore, they are perfect for the everyday female!

Before doing my face makeup, i started on the eyes as we can clean up the fall out from the eyeshadows a lot easier. To prevent the eyeshadows from creasing, i used Urban Decay's primer potion in Eden as my base. I then used the shade Love You More from my I Heart Makeup's Death by Chocolate palette which is a beautiful shimmery plum shade. You can stop there with the lid for a more subtle purple shade but i decided that i wanted to go all out and add a punch of colour. So on top of that shade i used an eyeshadow from Accessorize called Ultra Violet. This eyeshadow is honestly so pigmented, i was really suprised! Moving on to the crease, i used the shade One More Bar from the Death by Chocolate palette and placed that in the outer crease and lightly blended in. For the lower lash line i mixed One More Bar and All is Lost, i diffused this from outer corner to where my bottom lashes start. For my inner corner, i used YDK from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and applied generously. To finish off i lined my waterline and tight line with a black eye pencil and did a winged line on my upper lash line. Finally, i applied Ardell's Demi Wispies lashes.

For the face make up (in case you were wondering) I used L'Oreal True Match foundation and LA Girl's pro conceal concealer. I wanted a dewy look so i didnt set my make up with any powder. I then contoured my face using my City Color contour kit, for blush i used Revolution's blush in Sugar and for highlighter i used the highlight from Sleek's face contour kit. On my lips im wearing Sleek's matte lip cream in Birthday Suit.

Hope you all enjoyed!
